Hi, I’m Becca Silver. And you read that right- I used to be that teacher—the one people labeled as “resistant.”
But the truth was I wasn’t resisting change. I was exhausted. I was overwhelmed. I didn’t feel safe, supported, or seen.
I didn’t need more PD. I needed someone to ask, “What’s actually going on here?”
For a long time, I blamed myself. I thought I wasn’t cut out for this work. But deep down, I was still showing up every day—because I cared. I cared about my students loving learning, being successful in class and growing up to be compassionate and hard working human beings.
Everything changed the day a coach actually listened.
They stopped trying to fix me and started trying to understand me. They saw the human behind the behavior. And instead of pushing harder, they got curious.
That’s when I realized: the real problem isn’t resistance—it’s unmet needs.
Later, when I became a coach myself, I saw the same thing over and over again. Coaches struggling. Teachers stuck. Leaders frustrated.
Not because they didn’t care—but because no one had taught them how to name what was really going on beneath the surface.
That’s why I created the The Resistance Remedy—a way to pinpoint what people truly need to grow. Not what we think they need.
